Intel Alder Lake CPUs Increase Global Market Share, but AMD Ryzen CPUs Continue to Dominate the DIY Segment in Germany.
For the past few weeks we have informed how the PC market is in general decline due to rising inflation. Both AMD and Intel are expected to lose desktop revenue next quarter, but Germany’s DIY segment remains a stronghold for AMD’s Ryzen CPUs, which continue to outsell Intel’s latest and greatest Alder Lake CPUs.

Looking at sales figures, Mindfactory reports that 63% of CPUs sold in June were from AMD and 37% from Intel. AMD Ryzen CPUs sold more than 7,500 units, while Intel CPU sales were around 5,000 units. Among all AMD CPUs sold, the most popular CPUs were Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5950X. In fact, the Ryzen 9 5900X outsold the mainstream Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 5 5500. This is mainly Discounted deals on the Zen 3 line considering it’s almost two years now.
Intel, on the other hand, saw almost all of its sales come from its 12th Generation Alder Lake series. Intel’s most popular CPUs were the Core i7-12700K, Core i5-12400F, and Core i5-12600K. Revenue split Mindfactory had 61% CPU revenue from AMD or more than 2.5 Million Euros, while Intel3 CPUs were the same as 9. % or just above 1 Million Euro sales. You can easily spot a downward trend in sales and revenue numbers, reminiscent of the shrinking PC market mentioned above.

The highest revenue came from the top three chips, Ryzen 5 5600X (€435,000), Ryzen 7 5800X (€416,000) and Ryzen 9 5900X (€391,000). Both Intel and AMD CPU prices are falling, with Intel falling recently launched a special retail price cut This will reduce prices by up to 5% on select 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs. This price reduction is for the current month, so these figures are from the previous month and will not be reflected here.
As for the family split, both Intel and AMD have the latest Alder Lake (12th Gen) and Vermeer (Ryzen 5000) CPUs, which account for 75% of sales and 83% of revenue. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper and Intel Core-X HEDT set have completely disappeared from the chips, as DIY enthusiasts have not received any new product families for more than two years. AMD has announced that Threadripper 5000WX CPUs will be coming to the DIY segment, but they will be full-fledged PRO parts and will require users to do so. HEDT spends more on his family than he used to.
According to the report, Germany will continue to be AMD’s stronghold unless Intel comes up with something really good. we will see if it is Raptor Lake given the red team’s focus, it is able to take more market share than AMD in the mainstream segment later this year.
