If you are not already aware, Battlefield 2042 it’s a game out of nowhere in the middle of a pandemic near enough design work or testing is done for such a flagship release. Our latest reminder of this comes in the form of an update which will be kind of eliminate one of the main selling points in the beginning.

2042 made a big preview of the new “Specialists”, hero-type characters with flexible loadouts that will replace the tried and tested “Class” system (multiplayer FPS archetypes like “Recon” and “Assault”). These Specialists have long been unpopular with fans due to both their impact on the game and their design. and while the latter has already been addressed It seems that DICE developers have agreed to rework the previous one as well.

In a major update released by the development teamrevealed that they’ve “started working on a major overhaul of the way you’ll play with the pros,” which will split the gap between traditional and system in two. 2042 years the use of specialists. Hero characters will remain, but they will be assigned to class levels (see above), with some gadget usage restricted between classes to “make Class Identity clearer”. For example, only scout players will be able to use SOFLAM, while medical boxes will only be available to support players. As someone who has Mackay (in the “Assault” class) but uses SOFLAM a lot, it’s too bad, but I guess we’ll see how things shake out once the changes roll out (which won’t be for a while, as DICE says it won’t be until Season 3).

Other changes coming in and around Season 2 will be three new weapons (two primary and one side weapon). also updates to the game’s two starting maps, Update and Orbital, comes with another new map. DICE will also start adding some “vault” weapons, which are weapons from time travel, to the base game. Portal game mode, as well as continuing the visual update of all Specialists, especially “Voices, Posture and Facial Expression changes”.
