WASHINGTON, August 14, 2022 – Home Run Inn Frozen Foods, Woodbridge, Ill. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today that the facility is recalling approximately 13,099 pounds of frozen meat pizza products that may be contaminated with foreign materials, specifically metal.
Frozen meat pizzas were produced on June 6, 2022. The following product should be recalled. [view labels]:
- 33.5 oz cartons with “Home Run Inn CHICAGO’S PREMIUM PIZZERIA DELUXE SAUSAGE CLASSIC PIZZA” with a “best by date” of “12/03/22”.
The recalled products are “EST. 18498-A” within the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a distributor in Illinois and then distributed to retailers.
The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that it had received consumer complaints about metal found in pizza.
There are no confirmed reports of injuries or adverse reactions from the use of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare professional.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ freezers or at distributor and retail locations. Consumers who purchase these products should not consume them immediately. In addition, distributors and retailers are urged not to sell these products. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS regularly reviews recall effectiveness to verify recall firms’ own awareness is recalling customers and steps are being taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
